Same issue here! Instagram is unfairly reporting me, can't send messages, and it’s so frustrating.

I waited a few days, and it eventually fixed itself. In the meantime, I used Facebook Messenger to stay in touch with my friends. Maybe try that if you’re desperate. Also, avoid sending too many messages at once – their system hates that.
