How to Properly Set the curl Authorization Header for API Requests?

16 Replies, 1427 Views

Hey! For the curl authorization header with Bearer tokens, make sure your token is valid and not expired. Sometimes APIs are picky about spaces or formatting.

For Basic Auth, `curl -u username:password` is the easiest way, but if you wanna set it manually, you can do:
`curl -H "Authorization: Basic $(echo -n 'username:password' | base64)" https://api.example.com`

Also, check out Postman or Insomnia for testing APIs—they make debugging headers way easier.
