How to Implement a Reliable Python Health Check Running Daemon for Monitoring?

Hey everyone,

So, I’ve been trying to figure out how to implement a Python health check running daemon for monitoring some services. I’m not super experienced with daemons, so I’m kinda stuck.

I need something that runs in the background, checks the health of my app (like API endpoints, DB connections, etc.), and logs or alerts if something’s off. I’ve seen a few libraries, but not sure which one’s reliable or lightweight enough.

Anyone got tips on setting up a Python health check running daemon? Like, should I use `systemd`, `supervisord`, or just roll my own with `multiprocessing`? Also, how do you handle edge cases, like the daemon crashing or missing checks?

Thanks in advance! Any help or code snippets would be awesome.

Cheers!
