So I’ve been hearing a lot about this "http proxy meaning" thing, and honestly, I’m still kinda confused. Like, is it just some fancy middleman or what?
From what I gather, an http proxy is basically a server that sits between you and the internet. When you send a request (like trying to visit a website), it goes through the proxy first. The proxy then forwards it to the site, grabs the response, and sends it back to you.
Kinda like a bouncer at a club, but for your internet traffic lol.
But why tho? Well, it can hide your IP, block sketchy sites, or even speed things up by caching stuff. Still, I feel like I’m missing something. Anyone got a simpler take on the http proxy meaning? Or am I overcomplicating it?
