Wow, thanks y’all! This really cleared up the http proxy meaning for me. I didn’t realize there were so many uses for it, like bypassing geo-blocks or speeding up browsing.
I tried out ProxySite like someone suggested, and it worked like a charm for accessing a site that was blocked in my region.
Quick follow-up though—are there any downsides to using a proxy? Like, does it slow things down or make browsing less secure? Just wanna make sure I’m not trading one problem for another.
