So, I’ve been debating whether the static ip cost is worth it for my home network. I run a small side hustle from home, and my ISP keeps pushing me to upgrade to a static IP. But man, the static ip cost is kinda steep compared to my current plan.
I mean, I get it—static IPs are more reliable for hosting stuff, remote access, and all that jazz. But is it *really* necessary if I’m not running a full-blown business? Like, my dynamic IP hasn’t caused any major issues so far.
Anyone here switched to a static IP? Did you notice a big difference? Or is the static ip cost just another way for ISPs to squeeze more money outta us?
