Bro, I feel you. The proxy node protonvpn requires a username and password chrome thing is so frustrating. I fixed it by resetting my Chrome settings completely.
Go to Settings > Reset settings > Restore settings to their original defaults. It’ll clear out any weird proxy settings that might be causing the issue. Just make sure to back up your bookmarks and stuff first.
If that doesn’t work, try reaching out to ProtonVPN support. They’re pretty responsive and might have a better fix.
