Wow, thanks so much, everyone! I didn’t expect so many helpful replies. I tried switching to port 993 and enabling SSL/TLS, and it worked! The connection finally went through.
I also tested my proxy using ProxyCap, and it seems to be working fine. I’ll keep the VPN suggestion in mind if I run into more issues.
One quick follow-up: Does anyone know if there’s a way to automate proxy testing? Like, a script or something that checks if the proxy is active before Thunderbird tries to connect? Just curious.
