SuperRIPS free is alright, but it’s definitely not the best out there. I tried it for ripping DVDs, and while it worked, the quality wasn’t always consistent.
If you’re worried about safety, just run a virus scan after downloading. I didn’t have any issues, but better safe than sorry.
For something more reliable, I’d suggest DVDFab. It’s paid, but the free trial is pretty solid.
