Honestly, I think you might be overcomplicating it a bit. I use a basic whitelist ip proxy setup with Apache, and it’s super straightforward. Just edit the .htaccess file to allow specific IPs, and you’re done.
For management, I keep a list of IPs in a text file and update the .htaccess file manually. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done. If you’re looking for something more automated, maybe check out Sucuri or similar tools.
