How to Trim HTML Text Using BeautifulSoup: Best Practices and Tips?

20 Replies, 2363 Views

Hey everyone!

So, I’ve been messing around with beautifulsoup html text trim lately, and I gotta say, it’s super handy for cleaning up messy HTML. But I’m still figuring out the best way to trim text without losing important stuff.

Like, how do you guys handle extra spaces or unwanted line breaks? I’ve tried `.get_text(strip=True)`, but sometimes it feels like it’s cutting too much. Any tips or best practices for beautifulsoup html text trim?

Also, what about nested tags? Do you just loop through them or is there a smarter way?

Would love to hear how y’all deal with this! Thanks in advance!

P.S. Sorry if this has been asked before, I’m still kinda new to this. 😅
