Wow, thanks for all the tips, everyone! I tried the burnishing method with a steel rod last night, and it worked way better than I expected. Still getting the hang of the angle, but it’s definitely an improvement.
I’m curious though—has anyone tried using a honing guide with their card scrapers? I’m wondering if it’s worth the investment.
