Honestly, Yahoo’s API is a mess. I gave up and switched to Alpha Vantage. They have news endpoints, and while it’s not Yahoo-specific, it covers financial news well.
If you’re set on Yahoo, maybe try their RSS feeds? Not an API, but easier than scraping.
