OP here—thanks for all the suggestions! I tried `postMessage` again with more careful setup, and it kinda works, but the iframe content is third-party, so it’s still flaky.

The overlay idea is interesting, but the div’s position changes dynamically. Anyone know a way to sync the overlay with the iframe content?
