So I'm trying to set up a little home server for some projects, and I keep hearing about an xfinity static ip address being way better than dynamic for remote access. But here’s the thing—does Xfinity even let residential customers get one without jumping through hoops?
I checked their site, and it’s all vague. Some say you *need* a business plan, others claim you can request it for extra $$$. Anyone here actually got an xfinity static ip address on a home plan?
Also, how much extra are we talking? If it’s like $20/month, I might just stick with dynamic and deal with the hassle. But if it’s reasonable, could be worth it.
