How many IPs in a /29? Need a quick clarification! or Can someone explain how many IPs in a /29 actua

Thanks everyone! This clears up so much. I was totally overcomplicating it.

So, to confirm: how many ips in a 29 is 8 total, but only 6 usable because of network/broadcast. Got it.

I tried subnettingpractice.com like someone suggested, and it’s way easier than I thought.

One last thing—does the gateway IP usually take up one of the 6? Or is that extra? Just wanna make sure I don’t run out.
