"Is an HTTP SOCKS proxy enough for anonymous browsing?"

Hey folks, been digging into this whole proxy vs VPN debate and wanna get your take.

So, an http socks proxy is *kinda* better than a regular proxy since it handles more traffic types (not just HTTP). But let’s be real—it’s NOT the same as a VPN.

No encryption = your data’s still out there like an open book. Sure, it hides your IP, but any snooper can see what you’re up to.

If you’re just tryna bypass geo-blocks or scrape some data, http socks proxy might cut it. But for *real* anonymity? Nah, you’ll wanna pair it with a VPN or Tor.

Thoughts? Am I overreacting or is this just common sense?
