Which is better for privacy: HTTP SOCKS proxy or a VPN? or How does an HTTP SOCKS proxy work compared

I’ve used http socks proxies for years, and they’re great for certain things—like avoiding IP bans or accessing region-locked content. But anonymity? Nah.

Without encryption, your ISP (or anyone else) can still see what you’re doing. If you’re just casually browsing, it’s fine. But for sensitive stuff, you’ll need more.

ProtonVPN’s free tier is a good start if you wanna upgrade.
