"Does an anonymous proxy server actually protect your identity?"
Alright, so I’ve been messing around with anonymous proxy servers lately, and I gotta ask—do they *really* keep you hidden? Like, sure, they *say* they mask your IP, but how much can you actually trust them?
I’ve heard some proxies log your data anyway (kinda defeats the purpose, right?). And if the proxy itself is shady, you might as well just hand your info over directly.
Plus, even if it hides your IP, things like cookies or browser fingerprints can still give you away. Sooo… is an anonymous proxy server just a false sense of security? Or am I missing something?
Would love to hear if anyone’s had good (or bad) experiences with these. Cheers!
