Honestly, public proxy servers for privacy are a mixed bag. Yeah, they hide your IP, but like you said, many are sketchy. Some log your data, and others might even inject ads or malware.
If you're serious about privacy, I'd recommend a VPN instead—way more reliable. Check out ProtonVPN or Mullvad. They’re not free, but at least you’re not the product.
