From my experience working in IT, tracing an ip is *kinda* accurate but not precise. Tools like MaxMind’s GeoIP can get you close—like within a few miles—but it’s not gonna drop a pin on someone’s house.

Biggest issue? Dynamic IPs. Your ISP changes them all the time, so even if you trace it today, it might be useless tomorrow.

And yeah, VPNs screw everything up. If you’re serious, you’d need more than just an IP lookup.
