So I keep hearing about *what is bottraffic* and how it messes with website stats. But like, what exactly is it? Is it just fake visits from bots, or does it do more damage?
From what I’ve gathered, bottraffic (or bot traffic, if that’s what was meant) is basically non-human visits to your site. Some bots are harmless, like search engine crawlers, but others can skew your analytics or even spam your site.
Does it really matter though? Like, if my site’s getting a ton of bottraffic, should I be worried? Or is it just a nuisance?
Also, how do you even tell if your traffic is real or bottraffic? Any tools or tricks?
