Totally agree ip blocking is overrated for DDoS. It’s like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound.
For spam, though, it *can* help if you’re using something like Spamhaus’s blocklists. Those update constantly, so it’s not just you manually blocking IPs.
But yeah, layer it with other stuff. CAPTCHAs, honeypots, maybe even a CDN. Otherwise, you’re just wasting time.
