Hey folks, kinda new here but been wondering—why do people even need a random IP address? Like, I get it for testing websites or apps, but what else?

Is it just for privacy stuff, like hiding your real location? Or are there other legit reasons?

Also, is it cool to just grab one off some generator, or could that get you in trouble? Seen mixed answers online and it’s lowkey confusing.
