If you’re on Windows, try this regedit hack (backup first!):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer

Set "DisableMSI" to 0.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Depends on how locked down you are.
