First, make sure your proxy isn’t some sketchy free one. Those are *always* slow.

Second, if you’re on Windows, run `netsh winhttp reset proxy` in CMD. It’ll wipe any bad configs.

For your roommate, Linux/Mac terminal commands are easy—just search "how to configure proxy [OS]."

Also, maybe just… don’t use a proxy? Unless you *need* it, it’s often more trouble than it’s worth.
