"Can someone clarify the exact RESTful definition for me?"
Hey folks, I’ve been digging into APIs lately, and everyone keeps throwing around "RESTful definition" like it’s super obvious. But honestly? It feels kinda vague.
Some say it’s just HTTP + JSON, others insist on HATEOAS (whatever that is), and some act like if you’re not using hypermedia, you’re doing it wrong.
So what’s the *real* deal? Is there a universally agreed-upon RESTful definition, or is it one of those "you know it when you see it" things?
Like, if I’m building a simple API that uses GET/POST/PUT/DELETE, am I RESTful enough? Or am I missing something?
Would love to hear how y’all define it—keep it plain terms pls!
