omg same. The Mac error: externally-managed-environment is so random.
I just use conda now—way fewer headaches. Install miniconda, then:
```
conda create -n myenv python=3.9
conda activate myenv
```
No more pip errors, and you get free dependency management.
Conda > venv for noobs, imo.
