What is a URI? Can someone break it down in simple terms? or What is a URI? How is it different from

So, I keep hearing the term *"What is a URI?"* thrown around, but I’m still kinda confused. Like, is it the same as a URL? Or something totally different?

Can someone break it down in simple terms? Maybe with an example? I’m just starting out with web stuff, and all these acronyms are melting my brain lol.

Also, why does it even matter in web development? Like, when would I actually need to care about URIs vs URLs?
