"Rust vs C++: Which One Should You Learn for Systems Programming Today?"

hey folks! been digging into systems programming lately and stuck on the rust vs c++ debate.

c++ is the og, tons of legacy code, crazy fast, but man, those memory bugs are a nightmare.

rust feels like the new kid on the block—safety guarantees, no null pointers, but the borrow checker can be a pain at first.

so, which one’s worth learning in 2024?

if you’re starting fresh, is rust the way to go? or stick with c++ for the job market?

kinda torn here, would love to hear your takes!

(also, anyone else find rust’s error messages way nicer? lol)
