Network id is just a way to say "these devices are on the same local network." It’s derived from your IP and subnet mask.

For Spectrum routers, the network id is usually 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.0.0. To confirm:
1. Open Command Prompt.
2. Type `ipconfig` and note your IPv4 + Subnet Mask.
3. Use a subnet calculator (just Google it) to find the network id.

Regular users don’t *need* to know, but if you’re into smart home stuff, it helps to understand why devices can/can’t talk.
