Can someone explain the meaning of 'proxied by' in simple terms? or What exactly does 'proxied by' me

"Can someone explain the meaning of 'proxied by' in simple terms?"

Hey all,

I keep seeing the term "proxied by" in networking stuff, but I’m kinda lost on what it *actually* means. Like, is it just a fancy way of saying "hidden behind" or is there more to it?

Would love a dumbed-down explanation—maybe with an example?

Thanks!

Or:

"What exactly does 'proxied by' mean in tech or networking contexts?"

yo, can someone break down the meaning of proxied by for me?

Is it like when a middleman handles your requests? Or am I way off?

Saw it in a server log and now I’m curious.

thx in advance!

Or:

"How is 'proxied by' used and what does it imply?"

Okay, so… meaning of proxied by—what’s the deal?

Does it mean traffic is being rerouted? Or filtered?

Kinda confused why it’s used instead of just saying "forwarded by" or something.

Any insights? Cheers!
