Tbh, the "what can someone do with your IP" panic is half-true. Most hackers won’t waste time on randoms, but targeted attacks? Different story.
I work remotely, so I use Tailscale to lock down my network. Free for personal use and way safer than exposing your IP directly.
Also, if you’re on Windows, disable NetBIOS. It’s like leaving your front door unlocked.
