Hey folks!
I'm kinda new to networking and trying to wrap my head around *what is proxy and reverse proxy*. Can someone break it down in simple terms?
From what I gather, a proxy sits between you and the internet—like a middleman. It hides your IP, filters stuff, or caches data. Useful for privacy or bypassing restrictions.
But a reverse proxy? That’s on the server side. It handles requests before they hit the actual server, like load balancing or hiding server details. Think of it as a bouncer for websites.
But I’m still fuzzy on the details. How do they *actually* differ in practice? Any real-world examples?
Thanks in advance! (and sorry if this is a noob question lol)
P.S. If I got anything wrong, pls correct me!
