Can someone explain what is SMB? How does it work in simple terms? or What is SMB exactly? Need a cle

Tried the folder sharing trick at home and it worked (kinda proud ngl).

But now I’m curious: How do you secure SMB? Saw a few warnings about hackers—any quick tips besides disabling SMB1?
