How do I properly set proxy settings for my network? or What's the best way to set proxy settings on

Proxies can be tricky, but here’s a foolproof way:

1. Open Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN settings.
2. Tick "Use a proxy server" and enter details.

Automatic config is great if your network provides a script. Manual is better for static proxies.

And no, it won’t "break" your net—just disable the proxy if it fails. For Mac/Linux, use Network Preferences or `networksetup` in terminal.
