Port 3128 is my go-to for a proxy server port because it’s often used for caching, which can actually speed things up if you’re rerouting a lot of traffic.
But if you’re just using it for personal stuff, 8080 is easier. Blocking isn’t really a big deal unless you’re on a super restrictive network (like school or work).
For testing, try ProxyCap or Fiddler to see how different ports behave.
