thanks everyone! didn’t realize some APIs count global requests—that explains why my delays weren’t helping.

gonna try the jitter thing and check the retry-after headers. also, that httpstatuses site is clutch.

update: switched to batch requests and it’s way better. still getting a few 429s but way less.
