For Windows, sometimes the proxy settings get stuck in the registry.
You can try editing it via `regedit` (careful tho!). Navigate to `HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings` and set `ProxyEnable` to 0.
But yeah, backup first. Registry tweaks can be risky.
