What's the Best Way to Set Up a SOCKS Proxy for Secure Browsing? or How Reliable Are SOCKS Proxies Co

Pro tip: Use FoxyProxy for Firefox if you’re just doing browsing. Makes switching between proxies a breeze.

For gaming, a socks proxy can help with geo-restrictions without the VPN lag. Check out Luminati (not free but has a trial).

Free socks proxies are hit or miss—ProxyNova updates theirs often, but YMMV.
