"What's the easiest way to turn on ports in Ubuntu? Help a noob out!"

Hey guys,

So I'm setting up a little server on Ubuntu and need to turn on ports for a few services. I’ve googled around but keep getting mixed answers—some say use `ufw`, others say `iptables`... and tbh, I’m kinda lost.

What’s the simplest way to turn on ports in Ubuntu? Like, if I wanna open port 8080, do I just do `sudo ufw allow 8080` and call it a day? Or is there more to it?

Also, do I need to restart anything after? My firewall’s active, but I’m not sure if I’m missing a step.
