"Newbie question: What does it mean to parse data or code?"
hey guys, dumb question but... what does it mean to parse?
like, i keep hearing "parse this JSON" or "the compiler parses your code" but idk what it actually *does*.
is it just reading stuff? or is there more to it?
would love a simple explanation (maybe with an example?) cuz google's answers are way too technical lol.
thanks!

"ELI5: What does it mean to parse something in tech?"
ok ELI5: what does it mean to parse?
like, if i say "parse this sentence," am i just breaking it down into words? or is there some magic happening?
heard it a ton in coding but still fuzzy. pls help a noob out 😅
examples would be clutch!

"What does it mean to parse, and why is it important in programming?"
sooo what does it mean to parse?
i get that it’s about analyzing stuff (data, code, etc.), but *how*? and why’s it such a big deal in programming?
like, does it just check for errors or actually *do* something with the info?
kinda lost here—anyone got a simple breakdown? thx!
