Ugh, firefox proxy settings can be so finicky. Double-check if you’re using the correct proxy type (SOCKS5 vs HTTP).
Also, try ticking the "Proxy DNS when using SOCKS v5" box in Firefox’s network settings. That fixed it for me once.
If all else fails, a VPN might be simpler. But if you’re set on a proxy, maybe test with a free one first to rule out provider issues.
