"Can someone explain what http headers do in simple terms?"
Hey everyone, kinda new to this whole web dev thing and keep hearing about http headers. But like... what exactly do http headers do?
Are they just invisible techy stuff or do they actually matter? I get that they send info between servers and browsers, but why should I care?
Also, do they affect stuff like security or speed? Or am I overthinking it?
Would love a dumbed-down explanation if anyone’s got one. Thanks!

"How much do http headers actually affect web performance?"
Yo, so I’ve been tweaking my site for speed, and someone mentioned optimizing http headers. But like... how much do http headers do for performance?
Are we talking big gains or just minor tweaks? I know stuff like caching headers can help, but what else?
And can bad headers actually slow things down? Would love some real-world examples if you’ve got ‘em.
Cheers!
