Can someone explain what does curl do in simple terms? or What does curl do exactly and how is it use

"Newbie question: what does curl do and why should I care?"

hey all, total noob here. i keep seeing ppl use `curl` in tutorials but i'm kinda lost.

so, what does curl do exactly? from what i gather, it’s like a command-line tool to fetch or send data to/from servers. wanna download a file? curl it. need to test an API? curl can ping it.

but like... why not just use a browser? well, sometimes u need automation or scripting, and curl is lightweight af.

anyone got simple examples or cool uses? also, is it *that* important to learn?
