I’ve used an isp proxy server before, but mostly for work stuff where we needed to mask our IPs for web scraping.
For personal security? Meh. It’s better than nothing, but not by much. And yeah, speed takes a hit.
If you’re tech-savvy, you could try setting up a private proxy with something like Squid, but it’s a pain. VPNs are plug-and-play.
