Tried the `/etc/wgetrc` tweak and `--proxy-type=http`—still timing out. But `strace wget` showed it’s not even hitting the proxy?

Weird, ‘cause curl flies through. Gonna test with `nc` like someone suggested. Maybe the port’s blocked.
