Bro, I feel you. Windows proxy settings are glitchy AF. Try this:
1. Run CMD as admin and do `netsh winhttp reset proxy`
2. Reboot.
For Linux, just use `proxychains`—edit `/etc/proxychains.conf` and slap your proxy in there. Easy.
SOCKS5 > HTTP if you’re doing anything beyond browsing. Also, [CCProxy](http://www.ccproxy.com/) is a solid tool for testing.
