"Does Sock 5 Actually Keep Your Traffic Anonymous?"
Hey everyone, been digging into proxies lately and keep hearing mixed things about sock 5. Some say it’s the GOAT for privacy, others claim it’s not as secure as VPNs or newer protocols.
So like… does sock 5 *really* hide your IP well enough in 2024? Or are there leaks or logging risks? I’ve used it for torrenting and it’s fast af, but idk if that speed comes at the cost of anonymity.
Also, how does it stack up against HTTP/S or shadowsocks?
Kinda torn between sticking with sock 5 or switching. Any real-world experiences or gotchas to share?
