Can someone explain what is proxy settings and how they work? or What is proxy settings and why would

Hey everyone!

So, I keep hearing about "proxy settings" but tbh, I’m kinda lost. what is proxy settings exactly? Like, is it some kinda middleman for your internet or what?

Also, why would I even need to use them? I’ve seen it in my browser settings but never touched it. Does it make stuff faster, safer, or just more complicated?

And if I *do* wanna try it, how do I even set it up? Is there a simple guide or something?
